Permanent/Long Lasting Audio Fix?
Permanent/Long Lasting Audio Fix?
I know and have searched all about the 02-03 Bose Head Unit Audio Cut Out situations. That said i know my options on where/how to fix this. But my question is whats the most permanent fix? So I dont need to do this again !(atleast for a long time)
#1: Is this relocation mod that 02SilverMax has come up with a great long lasting solution?
#2: Everyone refers to this company being another solution

I called this company today and they said they "rebuild them". So in actuality do they really fix the problem (with the weak cable not working over time etc)?
In theroy could I have them work on it and do this as 02SilverMax did ?
Thanks In Advance.

There was no updated part number from Clarion so it must be the same cable. (no improvements)
Since the cable has not been improved, I really recommend cutting out the side panel like I show on my site if you don't want to be going back in to fix it again.
I believe this closes this issue for me. If something changes I will update, if not.....
Good luck to all attempting this fix.

I am having the same problem with the speakers. Is there any diagrams out there to show how to fix the problem?
From further investigation I am looking for Chris S's diagrams but can't seem to find them and the link on 02silvermax's post is no longer abailable for the diagram. So if anyone knows where I could find this diagram it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

This shop is a Clarion dealer. They will apply the same fix as if you took it to the dealer (and they mail it to Clarion). Go with option #2.

Thanks guys for reviving this topic from the dead.
I have repaired my BOSE HUD in my 2002 GLE (with the chris.s fix), but I'm now having other problems. I want to replace the whole HUD with something that has AUX input for satellite radio and a USB slot. It also has to maintain the steering wheel controls and look good.
I'm finding it diffucult to find such units that are compatible with the 2002 maxima. Anyone know a good place to look or have a good suggestion?

I am not sure about the USB port, but I found this iCarKit the other day. I mainly was looking to connect my ipod to my stereo unit in my car, while being able to use my stereo's controls. Don't know if this is exactly what you are looking for but it is a start.

THE ONLY PERMANENT FIX:

Honestly probably not worth it to fix it...Just go aftermarket. I couldnt' be more happy with my setup. I retain my steering wheel controls TOO. Only thing you miss out on is your tape deck. =P
