Anyone else have this problem?
Anyone else have this weird problem with their car? So here's the situation, it's warm outside, about 70+ deg, the car is in drive, and I'm stopped in traffic. The car feels like it wants to pull forward when I have my foot on the brake. I can feel the car wanting to rev higher. When I notice, I put the car in park or neutral to check what's wrong. The car revs higher by itself. Initially it just goes to about 1500rpm, but when it gets bad, or when it's a really hot day, the engine revs to 3000rpm.
After a few minutes of this, when I'm definitely stuck in stop and go traffic, the car will start to overheat. It let it get bad once, hope it didn't warp the head or gasket
Would someone help me track this down?
Only mod I've done that I thought would have an effect is the O2 sim. I took it off, and soldiered the wires back together (have P0420 again). It still does it with the O2 sim off, though it hasn't gone to 3000rpm again yet.
I took out some of the fuses on the passenger's side box once (fuse box in the engine bay). Not sure if I might have mixed up a few of those fuses (seemed like they're mostly the same size anyway).
I had the Coolant flushed and thermostat changed, but it hasn't helped.
Thanks Org.

when i bought my car, it did the same thing....... all it was, it was the cruise control cable, it wasn't seated properly.....thus pulling on the throttle plate just as you would when applying the accelerator pedal
