Trunk Question

Hey Guys. I've been looking at an '03 GLE. Car drives great, but when I opened the trunk and looked under the spare tire well, there are some sections on the metal that look thick paintbrush streaks rather than smooth metal which I expect.

Do you guys have the same thing in certain sections of the metal down there, or do you think (like I do) that maybe the car's been rear-ended, and that it's body filler or weld that was not sanded down properly?

Yeah, it might just be the way they do cars nowaways. Just mainly curious, since my carfax report showed no crashes. Thanks for the reply.
