New brakes and rotors...

I have to replace brakes and rotors on all four wheels...I want to do a slight upgrade from stock, nothing over the top, but still keep the cost of parts relatively low. Any suggestions?

check out the brakes section for ideas, or just hit the GD section and pick a kit. brakes are one of the easiest things to find information on here

yea...guess i got a little lazy.

Here's a better question, I was looking at zinc plated rotors. Supposedly they are to prevent rust? But other than appearance, does the rust actually affect performance or life of the brakes?

^ No. Drive 30 seconds down the street and you've effectively burned all the rust off the face of the rotor, which is the only part that matters. I've read the people with zinc-plated rotors don't have rust issues, but it's purely a cosmetic preference.

Im gonna be using zinc coated brembo blanks to prevent the whole rusting process and PBR Deluxe pads. Probably not the greatest pads, but for my purposes, the OE pads were fine. These will be at least as good as those while eliminating the dust.

Putting them on this weekend most likely, I'll update after that.

FYI, I have PBR Deluxe pads and they dust like crazy. I've had them on for about 10k miles now and can't wait to get them off. My rims will literally be black in a week and I don't drive much. I'll be buying some Hawk HPS soon. Anyone else have PBR Deluxe pads and have them dust like crazy??
