Knock Sensor

Knock Sensor

I am looking to replace a know sensor in my car.

Does anybody have a how to. I searched and all i found is 4th gen.

It's in the same location as the 4th gen.
Just curious - why do you want to do this? Did you get the CEL?

I have a code.
No SES, the knock sensor doesnt turn on the light. I read that in the FSM.

So, is it the KS code? Interesting. KS's going bad on 02's now.

yeah, its a knock sensor code. I got it tiwce, i cleared it and it came back.

Just out of curiosity, how's the car's performance? Any MPG issues (Me = getting A32 flashbacks )

you can still drive with no pinging. However your ECM will retard timing to prevent spark knock.
It's a pretty hard job as it's underneath your intake plenum.

If you've got small hands, then you can get away with only removing the airbox to get yourself more arm room and just sticking your hand between the V. It's not easy and my hand was pretty scratched up when I did it, but it's doable.

Yeah, u can fit with small hands, i might get my GF to help me. Plus i have an intake so you can see it.
My gas milage is crap, i am hopping that the KS will help.
I am gonig to order it soon
