problem with spark plugs

so i went out and bought ngk plat spark plugs and replaced em.
they were way past due, and the ignition coils were looking pretty nasty. i took out some of the copper crap inside and cleaned what i could. after install, i take it out for a spin and it feels a little sluggish. after a mile, i got a blinking service engine light. ?? any advice...? i know i need new ignition coils but untill then what coudl be a problem..

Get the codes read. It's probably a misfire code from a bad coil or bad spark plug install.

How tight did you tighten them? It's typically hand-tightened until contact, and then another 1/4-1/2-turn. Sometimes if they are not tightened enough, the spark tip doesn't reach down into the combustion chamber as far in as it should.

check the following -
make sure sparkplugs are tight
make sure coils are all connected
make sure all coils are connected to proper harness

coils are connected to the proper harness? like the back coils in the back? front coils in the front? or the actual coils in the same spot they were in.

I've always put my coils back in the original sparkplug holes, but does that really matter? If so, why?

The cylinders dont all fire at the same time.

I think they fire 1, 3, 5 then 2,4,6 but could be wrong.

Right, but what does that have to do with putting coil one in place of coil five?

(No, I'm not suggesting crossing the plugs, just unplugging and switching coils).

It should have no difference. When you order replacement coils, they don't come assigned to a specific cylinder.
