SHIFT_whistle

I have a new high-pitched whistling/whining sound when I accelerate, around 2000 rpm (~25mph). 2K automatic. No recent work done. The car seems to run fine.

I don't hear it if the car is stopped (revving in neutral).

Belts? Bearings? Need to check the air filter. Any other ideas?

Do you have an intake? Cause I know that my intake whistles when I accelerate.

Is your windshield leak-free? Bad seals can make a windy whistle.

An intake or manifold spacers will do that lol. Someone thought I was supercharged...

Yet...gotta say it's not quite a whistle. More like just something sucking in air.

Thanks for the replies. The windshield and sunroof are tight and I don't have an intake. The stock intake and K&N air filter seem to be fine. Any other ideas?

ODB, I think I have the same issue as you... Do you hear the whistling at higher RPM? Because I hear it in the lower RPM range but not the higher...

and the winner is ... choiiiiiiiiiii

Once I got it out in the light to look under the hood, sure enough, the intake housing had come loose (the rubber insulation had come apart).

Cost to fix: $0
