It is time to reinstall my Yakima Q-rack on my 2001 Maxima SE (I do not normally leave it on full-time), and I realize I no longer have the fit instructions. I had thought (erroneously) that Yakima made them available online, but I was wrong - d'oh!

I need to know the measurements for the windshield to the front crossbar, and the front crossbar to the rear. Can someone help me out?

Thanks!

Have you tried telephoning Yakima for replacement instructions? I would think they could fax them to you.

As a side note, I managed to install a rack on an older car with no instructions, if you want to take the trial and error approach. I just made sure everything was centered, balanced, and just made sense. My bike never flew off, so it turned out well. I had instructions for the second rack I purchased and it made things easier, but the end result was pretty much the same.

Also, some bike/ski shops which sell racks also off installation services. They may copy the instructions for you or take some out of a box to help you out...

Front tower to windshield is 4", tower seperation is 38" (inside edge). Front crossbar to rear 27", tower seperation is 36 3/4". This is without stretch kit.
