Heh. An old turbo Datsun 180ZX. It was from a roll off a turn (I was behind him) and we went from about 20-60 and then he jammed the brakes cuz I guess he didn't want to exceed the speed limit much (it was 55). By that time I had walked him and was about 2 cars ahead. I smiled and nodded to the guy, being friendly (he is an older brother) but he glowered and turned off at the next light.

A 180ZX? Or was it a 280ZX? I never knew they made a 1.8 litre.

There never was a 180ZX. You must mean a 280ZX. Anyway, I'm glad no one was hurt.

I thought it was a 1, but it might have been a 2. Either way, I thought it was cool that I saw an old datsun...

My last car that I owned was a '80 280ZX. They are very fun cars. But yes, like the Miata it is very under powered. I have to say though, there is nothing like catching a fishtail around a corner at 30mph under WOT in one of those things! Good kill dude.

The first year of the 280ZX turbo is 1981.
My brother had a 76' 280 Z with a V8. Good thing you didn't bump into one of those, otherwise, your kills list would read 3-2
Good kill! A kill is a kill. He shouldn't be racing if he didn't want to lose

I wanted to put a V8 in mine, but having a baby and getting married forced me to sell my "toy". My new "toy" is a family sedan. (2001 Maxima AE) !

Hey, I got no problem losing. The one loss was from a crotch rocket that just completely kicked my ***, he was behind me and i would floor it and he'd creep closer to my bumper and laugh and then i slowed down and he hit the gas and flew around me like i was standing still. Didn't see what kind.

I just like to race, I lost to vipers, vettes, camaros, mustangs, anything you can think of in my old car. I'll race anybody. I think I'm actually going out to the track (Gateway) tomorrow to actually get some times though...

Here is something to think about next time anyone runs into an old Datsun.

Remember there is no limits with older cars.
