? about donut spare
Just an odd question - my Max came with 16" tires and I'm now going to stock 17s.
Is the spare that came with my Max the same as those that orginally came with 17s? Will I need to buy a larger spare?
Thanks,
Jack

If you check your manual (you all have the manual right?), you will see that the spare size is different between the 16 and the 17. That said, I really would not worry about it. It will only be off a bit and the thing is made to get you out of a jam. (You could also buy 3 more and put 800 screws in them and go winter rally racing, but that is another story).
What I did was take one of my old rims and put it in the spare tire hole, but now the cover doesnt fit. I wouldn't dare try to drive on the temporary spare with a lowered and kitted car. BTW, if you do do this, move the tire around every once in a while or else it will dry rot.

I guess my spare is pretty useless now, since i upgraded from the stock 16's to 17's, and I lowered my car.
/me goes to his car to remove his spare
Actually, you can use the spare on a lowered car with rims. I did that when I bent one of my rims and there were no problems other than a corner of the car being a little lower than the others (the spare is much much smaller, even in diameter than stock size). But keep the speed down, and you can drive on that donut for miles (not that you would want to, but you can).
Just make sure you keep that little donut fully inflated to 60psi or whatever the max inflation is.

Good advice
