Tires- Help!
Any suggestions on replacement tires for a 2000 SE with the 17 inch rims? The factory size seems to be hard to find. I hate the stock Potenza's. I have liked GoodYear & BF Goodrich in the past. Any ideas would be appreciated.
Are they a good tire at least?

Michelin makes one, but they are like $180 per tire..... check them out on tirerack

i just put on a new set of the bfg g-force kdw in 235/45 r17.
this is the second time i've used this size on the stock rims and no problems so far. so far so good with the tires. dry traction is about the same as the yokohamas i had on before. but the ride is kinda loud. we'll have to see about the treadlife, tho i suspect they'll be better than their predecessors.

There are:
1) Michelin Pilot XGT Z4
2) Bridgestone Potenza RE92
3) Michelin Pilot HX MXM4
4) Nitto 450
235-45-17 require 7.5 inch rims. Not one manufacturer will recommend running that size on the narrow 7" Maxima rim. Some people do it anyway. Do so at your own risk.

i'm not sure if they have the size you want but i strongly recomend the following
-bridgestone potenza s-03 pole position (haven't tried them but they must be better than the s02)
-bridgestone potenza s-02 pole position (i got the none pole position and they are really really good)
-michellin pilot sport (not sure what the model is but the best one)
-dunlop sp9000 great for rain
-dunlop sp8000 good for dry and wet traction
then more affordable ones
bridgestone potenza re-730
k i like.. just one i know of..
ask matthel what he thinks, he's real knowledgable in the tire field.. (turbo95max)

I remember a post by y2kse (not Kev) about Pirelli coming out with the P7 in 225/50's and I have heard good things about the Pirelli P7s. check out their website. Not sure exactly when they will be available here in the US though.
