Hi All. I'm looking for some Advice regarding the following Mods.

FSTB: (Does this mod create a warranty problem?)
Do I bite the bullet and support stillen after reading what they've done to some users here? Is the cost ($189) difference apparent to one I've seen for $89 bucks (don't remember where I saw it)

I see some people list a "Courtesy FSTB". Where can I get one and how much does it cost? How does it compare to the stillen?

Intake: (Does this mod create a warranty problem?)
Should I go with the stillen here again? I heard some negatives regarding hot humid temperatures.

Should I go with the JWT (It seems the big con with this guy is no K&N filter)

Should I go with the drop in K&N filter?

Thanks in Advance

Usually, a dealer will not give you trouble over the FSTB. The Courtesy FSTB is around $100 shipped. Functionally, it is the same as the Stillen FSTB, but does not look as good. If you want a discreet intake that a looks stock, look into the OSCAI.... do a search in the 5th gen forum and check the sticky threads for more info.

Stillen/Stealin'

you'll have to make up your own mind about stillen. They are expensive and their customer service sucks but they make good parts specificaly for the max. I haven't heard of many of their parts breaking (besided the SC pulley). Its a small market out there so shop around.

Use the sticky at top it has links to stillen courtesy, etc. that will be a good start to get contacts for parts.

As for warranty, there is no real answer. Most parts will not damage the car but dealer may give you a hard time and you may have to fight for your right to warranty repairs. It is a risk that you have to take. I say a FSTB and intake are really safe. If you did have a problem save and reinstall the stock coponents before bringingit in for warranty work. On the risky side is the Supercharger because it puts strain on your drivetrain.

good luck! and use the search and FAQ.

Stillen Intake
Stillen Y-pipe
Stillen FSTB
You can check out www.avalonracing.net for special pricing on Stillen items. Those would be the first 3 mods I did and what a difference.

watch out

The FSTB should be okay, it's a bolt-on part and if you had to, you could take it off before you go get it serviced (but they shouldn't give you sh~t.)

Certain intakes require a hole to be drilled in stock piping which MY dealer says "voids the warranty because the check engine light comes on and messes with existing equipment." I would stay away from any HP-adding performance mods unless you're willing to go all out and void the warranty completely.
