What suspension setup would you choose??
Which would you go with? Why?
1)Ground Controls w/Koni struts(Adjustable height)
2)KYB AGX with Eibach Prokits
3)Cattman Adjustable Coilover perches w/KYB AGX(Adjustable height)
My choice is either 1) or 3), since the 1" drop of 2) isn't low enough and I like the adjustable height option. I've heard the GC ride is harsh, but I wonder how harsh compared to 3). I want a lowered stance with minimal body roll and without a back breaker ride. Is this possible?
Kev,
How's the ride and handling of your GC/Koni setup? How much drop do you roll with? How low can you go before you need camber plates? Are they easy to adjust?

Ride can be harsh on bad roads, but it's not bad once you get used to it. Handling is superb and cannot be topped. Go to my site and check out the suspension page to see how low my car is. You'll need camber plates for anything that gives you 2"+ drop.
They are easy to adjust... jack the car up so the wheel is off the ground, take the supplied hex key, loosen the perch, turn perch up or down, tighten hex, lower car, move to next one, lather, rinse, repeat, condition, dry...

Ice: I am going with setup #2 for now and then maybe later on get GC's in place of the Eibachs if I feel up to it...

Thanks. I've been to your site at least 10x in the past couple weeks, but thanks for the tip anyways. Describe harsh, please. Would you choose AGXs over Konis if you could do it over? Do you know what the specs are on the Eibach Prokits? I know a shop that says they can get ANY length Eibach springs made, but I need to know what length and lbs. rating to get.
How do you know when all four are adjusted to the same height? How much was it for everything? (Koni=$520 shipped) + (GC=$400) Total = $920. Aren't GC camber plates are around $400?

right out of your seat. Sort of fun... to me at least. On smooth roads, the ride quality is smooth (just like stock). If I had to do it over again, I'm not sure which I would choose. Konis are proven to perform well on the Max and the AGX performance is still up in the air. It's nice to have external adjustability, but the Konis have this also (the rears are a bit harder to adjust). One advantage Koni has is adjustable height for the rear. From what I've seen on the Cattman gen2's, the shocks aren't height adjustable.
How do I know if all four are adjusted to the same height... you wouldn't want that because your butt will look like it's sagging. I paid $440 for Konis + $399 for GC... planning on getting the Stillen camber plates soon.

I checked that out too.... thats a pretty good price.. So are you getting the Konis then? I am still going to wait for the KYB's that Cattman is going to make available...

I'm pretty sure I will get AGXs struts. However, I have not decided on the springs. If I decide I want adjustable heigh I will go with Cattman adjustable perches. If I don't then H&Rs or maybe custom Eibach springs like the Prokits but shorter in length.
I don't think 1-1.4" drop from the Prokits will look how I want with 18" rims and a 40-series tire.

I have Eibach Spings with Tokico Premeium Performance Struts and my ride is great even on bad roads...i admit im not slammed but then again its all in the area you will be doing your driving. I also would like to add having Front/Rear Strut Braces with Rear Sway Bar helps the ride alot in my opinion.

sounds like you are going through the same thing I was thinking last week. I couldn't decide whether to get coilovers or just eibach springs. But, I have decided to get the pro-kit for now, and then get coilovers if I want later on. You can always sell your springs and move up to coilovers later on...
