Anyone have probs with it too??

anyways, i had my dad push one side of the cover as i pressed the release button for it to work.

been there...

I've been there but luckily it was when I was waxing my car in the driveway (when I wanted to get the excess from the crevice between the gas tank door and body panel). Used a drop of oil on the latching mechanism and where the spring steel contacts. Worked the oil it in by hitting the release a few times. Hadn't had a problem since.

it was probably just getting stuck especially since you said it opened once you pushed in on the side that the latch is on. That releaved some pressure up against the latch. I'll probably oil mine soon, before this happens to me. Thanks for letting us know.
