How long should I wait until I wax my max. I know they say a hardcoat is applied to the car and not to wax during a certain amount of time but I do not know the time limits. I got my 2001 a month ago so that makes me think it is safe to go ahead and wax it, I used a paint protector after I washed it and it left an odd residue. So I wanted to make sure that it was alright to go ahead and wax it?

Wait

If you *just* bought your car, a month ago, I would say wait a bit longer to wax it.

For now, just wash it every time it gets dirty, but wait until about 3 months to wax it, and every 3 months after that. If you're using a good wax (like meguiar's paste wax for instance,) it should last for a long time such that washing alone will leave the lustre of the wax coat.

If you're really a fanatic, waxing every month will tire out your arms but there's no reason not to.

I appreciate the advice. I know I just got it while ago, but I figured since it was produced a while ago that I would be alright, but I will wait just in case. I try to wash it as much as I can, but the black attracts dust like no other. Guess its a trade off, but thanks.

Go to your local auto parts store and pick up a California Car Duster. It's a wand that you brush all over your car and takes off that layer of dust. I do it to my Max every other morning when my car warms up. Saves alot of time.
