Hey Guys- Just got my report back from Nissan, I will have the '02 tails in stock tomorrow! The official price is $104.56 a side. I'll mock them up & make sure the fit is ok, I can't imagine there will be any probs-

104.56 a side? Does that mean....about $209 + tax and shipping for the pair?

You're correct if your car has one left side and one right side.

Dave's number is 800-251-7278 - it's also in the sticky parts thread of you forget it or lose it. He already told us that the headlights MIGHT fit, but at a miminum, they would be $1,200 or more. So, it is fairly cost prohibitive.

Toylet - he only sells OEM stuff, but don't take that negatively, he is the most fair and customer servie oriented OEM parts person I have met. So, if you need ANYTHING OEM, he will definitely take care of you.

Huh - well, I guess I missed the price revision. Sorry about that. Last I heard, they were over a grand so if they aren't, then the better for us.

I talked to him about it - he says that Courtesy pretty much has the market cornered on that stuff. Even though Nissan does make them (for the Altima) and courtesy makes the ones for the Maxima, the Maxima ones are still considered aftermarket and Town North isn't in that business right now.

Hey Guys- I'll try to answer your q's-
The '02 tails are coming in tomorrow, at this time, two sets are un-spoken for. As soon as I get them, I will compare them to the '00-'01 taillight for physical fit. Then, I will hook them up to my car to make sure there are no electrical/hook-up issues. If everything looks good, I'll post to let everyone know. On the subject of the '02 HID's, I do have a set of them coming in tomorrow, also. The price issue has been settled, too. I hope to offer them to .org members for about $180 a side. What has not been settled is the compatability on an '00-'01. The physical fit looked similar on the '02 we got in, the wiring was different, it would take some very creative wiring to adapt the '02s. Once I get them in, I can do more in-depth research, but at this point, there is no official solution.

Dave or anyone... How likely is it that it will be possible to do a '00 to '02 exterior conversion... Bumpers, light etc...It shouldn't be that difficult, should it?

Personally, I like my SE tinted tails better, but I have only seen pictures. Hopefully, the yellow is not the glass, since it is FUGLY. I hope the yellow in the headlamps can be removed also.

Dave B.,
Do you know what style bulbs the high/low beams will use?

DAVE B....

Please email me ASAP when you get the '02 headlamps.

I need to know, since I'm getting HIDs already. I would like to know if the LOW-beam BULBS are H4-style by chance?

Thanks!

I heard that the headlights (HID right??) were over a grand each too, so I musta missed the price revision too. But I was wondering if the 02 tails were clear on the lower half of the circle, like the 00-01 ones, or amber? Cause it looks like the light is on in the nissannews.com pics that are amber. And I know someone photoshopped a pic on a white max with the clear lower half, and it looked sharp!

Hey Dave,

Could you clarify your post or reconfirm what I & other seem to be confused about?

This is my take on your post re: HID's.

The price has been settled @ $180 / side ... the only issue that remains is whether they fit or not?

tkx!

I'm pretty sure he said the taillights were $180 each and the headlights were $1200, but if I'm wrong that's even better. Please tell me I'm wrong!!

Wishful thinking but, $180 is just for the housing and won't include the HIDs. Hopefully, it comes with all the bulb base/connectors, because those should be different too.

So, what do you guys think??? Both will have functional HIGH/LOW beams with a little ingenuity(sp?).

1)Panasonice HIDs w/2002 Housing
-HIDs ~$460
-02 Housing ~$360
-High Beam bulbs ~$60
-Turn signal bulbs ~$35
-Bulb base/conectors ~$???

2)PIAA HIDs w/stock Housing
-HIDs $~1000-1300 ????
-If fit, no wiring hassle or fitment issues

I'd be getting close to the price of the PIAA or Hellas(I think), so is it worth spending a couple hundred more for them?

So your the GUINEA PIG he was talking about! How fast are you getting them and when you do could you see if the H4 bulb fits for the LOW beam?

He said the unit is COMPLETE with 9005 inner HIGH beam socket, Nisan 3-plug type Xenon HID outer LOW beam bulb, and a Nissan plug type TURN signal. So, now we just need to find out if it will physically fit and then it's going to take some wiring "magic".

One thing he did say was that the HID balast is mounted on the housing and aims down, so you MIGHT need to cut a 4" hole in the bumper for clearence.
