I dont know how many of you remember but I put an OSCAI in my 2001 SE about one week ago and I opted to put a 3" Intake hose instead of a standard 2.5" ShopVac hose everyone was using.

I also devised a nice opening for the intake from the splash guard. I have attached the pics of the intake from the engine and then also pics of the opening.

Let me know what yall think.

And yes I feel a world of difference. It seems to be alot quicker off the line and when I punch it on the highway.

looks good are you still using the stock paper filter, or have you gotten a K&N panel filter?

Maybe I will check around the internet for a cheaper price. Secondly, is that K&N panel filter a universal one or a exact fit for the max?

Where did the tubing come from. Most of the guys on the forum, including myself, used shop vac tubing. I couldn't find 3inch smooth tubing like what you are using.

Tubing is widely available at Home Depot. This is a 3" Flex Hose. Most of the time this hose is used for dryer ducts or venting for exhausts.

It is an aluminum flex hose that can bend and extend in any way.
