Never thought about it before, but, I've raced a friend's Impreza which was lightly modded (springs, exhaust, intake) and it felt pretty nice. Wasn't fast and wasn't the easiest to launch, but, They're cheaper than my Maxima, Suburu has a good deal going on (2.9% compared to my 11.9%), gets slightly better gas mileage, doesn't require premium (as far as I know), and will be cheaper overall...

any have other info on these? Common problems? etc?

If your talking about the WRX, go for it, even the 2.5 RS has potential, the boxer engine and all wheel drive is outstanding and its going to be alot more fun to drive...............

WRX

If the WRX would have been out last year when I bought my Maxima, I would be driving the WRX right now. That car is awesome.

Hmmmmm

Granted the engine is very mod-able and the awd speaks for itself, but it will be like driving a matchbox car compared to your max. For us big folk at least.

No way man! Your car is much nicer ride than that car. More refined and slick looking let alone the fact your current car is faster..

I also thought about getting a Subaru (WRX). After seeing them at the track running mid 13's with just intake and exhaust. But I thought about it and it just seems hard for me to give up all that roominess. But who knows it may still happen.( Haven't actually looked at them up close let alone test drive them.)

You dont want to get a Subaru. they are the worst car ive ever experienced! i had a 2000 subaru legacy gt. it was the biggest piece of **** car ever. some computer thing got burnt in it and the abs was so messed up for no reason it would be one while driving causing me to not move when i wa pressing on the gas. everything was falling apart. also you have to use premium and wastes more gas than the maxima. and the resale value drops big time. stay with the max.

I love the WRX, would've bought it over the maxima if they were the same price. but, the difference was over $5000. at least in my case

No, other than the one with the 220hp engine in it. (I finally read the AutoFile on the WRX. Some guy complained about no low end torque. On a 2.0 liter engine that doesn't spool up until 3500rpm. What a weenie.)

What about the new mini? If the dealer's don't start gouging, once the S gets here, I'll bet you see bunches of 'em running solo2. I've read positive stuff, so far...
