7th Speaker

Hi Again. I have a 2000 GXE with the comfort/convenience package (not a GLE, like I said before...). I like the 120 watt premium stereo, but I don't get much sound coming from the back doors speakers. Is there a way I can install a 7th speaker easily in the back dash, like the Bose 200 Watt stereo has one. Is it pre-wired??
Did you look underneath the rear deck? See if the wires are tucked to the side...If its wired you will know it better than I will...I already have the speaker. Beware...somewhere on my reardeck something is either vibrating or the speaker can blow easily...I don't know but the dealer performed a TSB about the "noise" due to a rear safety seat bolt and is replacing the rear speaker just in case.

Not sure if adding another speaker to a stock deck will improve your sound. Keep in mind that the stock power is rated at PEAK power. You might need an AMP before you add more speakers. The area on the deck is for a BOSE sub if I'm not mistaken
Hey guys- I climbed around in the trunk of my 2k base SE, looking at all the wiring harnesses, nothing looked promising till I stuck my finger up in the empty 7th speaker hole. Along the left edge, there is a harness on the top side, can't tell what it's for, but it is not for the center brake lite, the trunk opener solenoid, or the licence lamps. Someone needs to pull the parcel shelf finisher & see what that harness is for! Also, the Bose models have a separate amp for the 7th speaker, I don't think the head unit is any more powerful on a Bose equipped car. I'll slog through the parts catalog tomorrow & try to figure out if any of the harnesses are the same with & w/o Bose. Regards,

going this route myself
the guys down at my local car audio shop are saying that they could probably install some sort of sub woofer wired to a small amp, with out a great deal of problems. I'll be taking it in for them to check out this saturday, to see what they recommend
Isn't the Bose 200 watts vs our 120?
