Hi everyone! I've been sitting on the sidelines as an unregistered user for quite a while now reading and absorbing. I decided to join now because I just got what's sorta required to be here - 2001 Maxima SE Grey Lustre with Grey Frost leather interior!

I've wanted a Maxima for about 8 years now! I used to have a 93 Altima, and I've got to say, WOW, what a big step up going from the Altima to the Max is.

Thanks to everybody for posting so much usefull info on mods and general stuff... can't wait to get some clear corners...

When I first got my Altima, I then took notice of the rest of Nissans lineup. I knew that my car provided a nice supple ride, so I figured the Maxima would do just as well if not better. So then, dreaming about what's was better sparked my fuel.

My sister was in the market for a car about 3 years ago, and I convinced her to get a 98 Maxima GXE hunter green. Since then, I've especially wanted a Maxima, especially since the Alty was getting up in it's age. I also convinced my friend to convince his parents to get a 2000 Maxima. Well, actually I think it's because I talked about the car so much that he told his parents it was good, so they took him on his word.

The only qualm that I have with the Maxima is that I wish Nissan offered cherry red as an available color - and not just right before they introduce a body design. I'd really love to have an SE 2000+ Maxima. Otherwise, the car kicks ****!!

*sigh* I drive my friend's 93 Altima GXE 5sp all the time (I'm actually modding it; do you go on altimas.net?) ...compared to my bro's 93 Max SE 5sp, I think they're the same...until you start comparing performance.
Anyways...I don't have a Maxima and probably won't get one for another 2 years.
Is your maxima 5sp?

Congrats on your purchase.

You should also make some instant friends with some Max owners with your preference for cherry red.
