I just got my bulbs today (finaly!) The colors are sweet! The housing is purpleish just like a real hid and the light output is the right color too. THe only problem is there is not very much output... I did get piaa superwhites for the fogs though and it makes up for it alot. They are really bright and white and blend in perfectly.
The pics on the left are stock lights, pics on the right are new lights. Piaa h4 plasmas for headlight, piaa superwhite h3 for fogs.

That's some nice pictures Adam. I never found the right angle to take them. Maybe I'll use your angle to get a nice shot.

Where to get them?

I know there has been a post before, but I can't find it. Where to get these online (headlight and foglamp)? What bulb #'s? And which thread has the instructions? Looks real good, best that I've seen.

It says in my post the headlights are PIAA Super Plasmas size h4 and the fog lights are PIAA Superwhite Size h3. I got some help from yungjun to get the fogs out, they were a pain. I was looking all around for clips and stuff when all you have to do is shove em out after removing a screw.
Go to carparts.com to get them, make sure you find the 33% off coupon first. Then they will only be like 53.00 for the headlights and 38 for the fogs.

Newbie question, but the brights still will work with those PIAA H4's, right?

I think you only lose the brights when you install a real HID system, not just stock replacement bulbs. Here is a question, thought, for you guys - I have heard that these PIAAs are prone to premature burnouts, you know, they have a short life span. Any thoughts on this, whoever has them? Thanks!

I've had mine for quite a while (about 7 months) and they're still working fine. Just make sure you don't touch the bulb with your fingers.

use surgical gloves or something of that nature to slip on your fingers when U R ready to put the bulb in the socket. Condoms would work too but I'm trying to be polite for once

Hi I have a question for your H4.

I have found out there are more than 3 different types of PIAA plasma headbulbs. There are
1. Plasma FX 5000K for $92.08/pr (55/60)
2. Plasma XX Extreme 5000K for $93.92/pr (55/60)
3. Super Plasma 5000K for $94.83/pr (55/60)(this is the
highest performance rated)

Please let me know about your opinion and check this website
http://www.hitechimportlighting.com/piaa.htm

Thank you and looking forward for anybody opinion

Erwin

plasmas any good?

(I'm new to the site, and am very impressed with the whole site and its members.) Just a quick question...I'm looking to replace the stock headlights with PIAA Plasmas...not really interested in the looks, but was wondering if you all thought they were an actual improvement in providing visibility over the stock lights...thanks in advance.

If you want visibility, get higher wattage bulbs. 80/80 watts... but you'll have to upgradge your harness because the stock ones might melt.

Maybe a dumb question but

can you just replace the stock bulbs with the plasma ones or any PIAA bulb and not worry about melting either the harness or the plastic lense?

If you use stock wattage, then yes you can (won't melt).

PIAA bulbs

I ust put the PIAA Super Plasmas in today. They look pretty cool and I have the Super White H3's in the fogs. Has anyone seen the other H3 lights for the fogs?? I saw one pair that had a yellow/blue looking bulb. Also the blinker bulbs and parking lights, does PIAA make any bulbs for them? Thanks!

I bought my foglights and headlight bulbs back in august, when i got my car. I changed the headlights immmediately, they were a pain for me but i did. The foglights i left until yesterday november 5th2k, those fog bulb have been sitting in my house for 2 months. Well i finally replaced them and they work.
Anyway do this, SEARCH (in the upper right corner) and type FOG LIGHTS, and make sure you choose 5th gen forum.
READ EVERYTHING POSTED. i think it displays 2 pages. read everything regarding changing the bulbs. YOu will need everything put togther to know what you are doing. and start on the driver's side.
Thats what i Did, and it worked. Dont be scared like me.
