I just got the new 2K1 AE door sills, floor mats and the shift **** for my 2K Maxima SE. The door sills are great!

Anyone that has replaced the stock 5-speed shift **** please let me know how you got the OEM off.

thanks.

To remove the shift ****...

You have to wrap a towel over it and use a heavy duty wrench (channel lock will do) and twist it off (I believe counter-clockwise). You neet to break a glue seal so don't worry about the pressure you need to use, after you hear it pop, you should be good to go!

channel lock

My bro used a monster channel lock. It's about 16" long. You'll need the leverage. But definitely wrap the **** so you don't make indentations or scratches.
