how the hell do i get the lift tool thing out of that pocket area on the right side of the trunk?

manual says, twist towards me. ive been trying, but i swear, this thing is glued onto the car.

and if i manage to get this pos out, where should i place it under to lift? btw, my rear passenger side wheel died.

and also, im planning on putting on my OEM GLE wheel. its 16", while my current are 17". that should be alright until i get my wheel fixed right? and where should i take it?

any help?

same thing happened to me when i was trying to get my jack out.. it's open a little bit, you have to close it so it will come out.. it won't fit if it's open even the slightest bit

there's a part on the jack where the extension rod insert. you can twist it with your fingers to 'lower' the jack enough to where it can be removed. what they do is insert it retracted into the opening and then 'jack it up' until it holds itself into place. yeah, it's a pain the first time.
under the car, you'll see a painted metal beam with indentations. place the jack there, with the metal fitting into the slot on the jack. you'll know what i'm talking about when you see it.
running the 16 while you get the flat fixed shouldn't cause any problems.

You have to twist real hard, but after you take it out
you will notice how bad the jack is. I tried testing mine
and a couple of time almost dropped my car.

My workarounds are
1-) Buy a decent jack (the ones that support ton of pounds)
and keep it in your garage
2-) When traveling, I call AAA :-)

You can use your OEM 16" but you should fix your 17" ASAP.
Your can may lose alignment. You can take your flat to repair to any gas station.

ok, i finished. it was quite fun

i decided to put on the ugly spare. trying to get the full 16" wheel on was a pain.

anyway, i inspected the wheel to see what caused it......... i look, and theirs this THICK *** nail in it. i was like, omg, that kinda looks sick. i check the wheel some more for fun, and i see a second nail... this was straight in, 90 degree angle... my wheel got murdered.

where should i take my wheel? local gas station w/ a garage? and will they be able to repair it? one nail is pretty thick.

and some good news, my dad comes in today with 'my' custom plate.

aka get out of a ticket free plate

hmmm.... those two nails sound like they caused a lot of damage. If so, then the tire may not be repairable at all or will be unsafe if repaired. Anyhow, get it checked out. If the damage is bad, then you may have to get a new tire

Does anyone keep a can of that tire-fixing stuff (the green goopy stuff or any other brand) in their trunk in case of highway flats?

Just curious, I've never used any of that stuff and I wonder if it really works.

i wonder about that fix-a-flat type stuff too. will it stick onto the rim when you pump it into the tire/rim and cause some damage?

yuck, i went to the gas station to get it fixed.

it took like 10 minutes, they took my wheel, looked for it (the two nails) and pulled them out.

the thick nail didnt do any damage, it just sliced through rubber horizontally. the thin nail at a 90 degree angle was waaay in. when he took that sucker out, the air was rushing out.

after he took it out, he took this rod thing (like a screwdriver), shoved it into the hole. then he took this other thing with a hole (like a needle). he stuck this sticky orange thing through the hole, and shoved that into the hole. i can see how it stops the air.

only wierd thing now is that... theirs this orange blob on my wheel, and its wierd to think that, theirs a 3 inch peice of orange-thing inside my wheel now =\

and price for this was $8.60

The orange thing will melt when the tires get warm and will disappear. But..I thought those stuff only come in black (makes sense since tires are black) , orange?!

A long screw pushed into one of my tires about a month ago which caused all the air to leak out the tire every few hours. So I took off the wheel, removed the screw, went to Pep Boys and bought a patch kit for less than $4.00, and did the repair work myself. I've driven about 1500 miles since with no problems whatsoever, so those patch kits are great. It's the same stuff they use at a gas station shop, and you get enough to last you many repairs. It was a good $4.00 spent for me.

I was going to go to a gas station shop, but decided to save on the labor cost. I'm such a cheap bastard sometimes!

If you live in LA, go to globe tire on la cienega.

They will fix almost any tire for free.... i'm serious.
The cashier told me people usally tip the guy $5, so I did. They were really nice too, and professional.
