Well we all meet up around 9 pm last night.

First I saw Adboy in his sterling mist ae.
Then Lewi and Travis ( I hope thats you) showed up. Shortly after Erwin showed up. Well we were having our nice lil comfy meet at the mall when we wanted to meet up with loren00miata so we moved the meet further north to richardson. That's when Ruben a gold color max showed up as well.

Well we did the usual stuff like talk and take pictures. (Pics will be up when i get back to school)

Well just talking and looking over at the cars we decided to do some "test" runs on the service road. Well first Adboy with his 5 speed AE raced Travis in his s/c max. It was fairly close. I think they went 2 for 2 each. Then I decided to race Travis's s/c max and man it was kinda close. Off the launch i started pulling on him then after his boost built up he finally had me by like half a car then we slowed it down. The surprise of the night is when i lost to Lewi's stock max with intake. punk. Its ok I got him on the highway though.

All in all a good night.

My name's not Travis its Diederik (aka DMan_2KMax)and if I recall correctly when I raced Adboy on the service road I beat him each time. Adboy REALLY kept up well and I really didn't pull on him until around 50-55 mph and then I didn't pull away real bad either. When we race from a dead stop at the light I got a really good start and he had some bad tire spin so I ended up winning pretty handily in that particular race. Hey YJ how would you know the outcome of the races on the service road since you were not even there. (Remember Adboy and I turned off to race and you kept going straight) On the highway at around 60-70 mph Adboy really held his own and I think we were 2 for 2 there depending on who got the jump. I had you by "half a car a length" come on now when your front bumper is way behind my car that's more like 1 1/2 to 2 car lengths. All in all it was really fun and yall were really cool. It was nice meeting you guys and fun chating and racing. Except of course when Loren about gave me a heart attack in his maniac maxima on 75!! Take care.

Is Adboy stock? If not what mods does he have on his 5spd?

 

He has the OSCAI on his car, but that's about it. He ran very well and impressed me. I learned that the KEY was getting a good start with minimal tire spin. When we both spun real bad he hung with me really well (actually dead even) until around 50-55 mph at which point I started pulling away slowly. In the last race when I got almost no tire spin and he got a crappy launch with quite a bit of tire spin I walked him pretty bad, but in his defense he may have let off the gas once he saw I was pulling away. Adboy had a sweet AE and makes me wish I had a 5-speed now with my SCer.

not 2 flame .. but doesn't that **** u off that a stock can sorta keep up? i'm trying 2 gauge whether a sc is worth it on the max ... albertan sold his maxima when he realized that the SC really wasn't worth it ...

Yeah, my car WAS stock Friday night and I was really impressed at how well it hung with the SC. (And YJ)

Now it has the Y-pipe, and I’m comin’ for ya, DMAN.

Seriously. That thing has done wonders for my high-end. And middle. And some on the low end.

Dman did whip me pretty bad on the last one, but I chalk that up to driver error. I think I spun a half-inch off my front tires. The rest of the times, like he said, it really depended on who got the jump. Oh, yeah- One other detail- I had 4 people in my car Dman had three… hmmmm…

Yeah I'll have to admit I was a little dissappointed that Travis kept up so well and I didn't pull harder on him. However keep in mind that I have an auto which when compared stock for stock to a 5-speed would get beat pretty handily in a race. Now with the SCer my auto can take a stock 5-speed with OSCAI but not as badly as I would have liked to. Imagine if the SCer was on Travis's 5-speed AE max, now that would be a sweet setup. I'm considering selling my 2k SCed max b/c I really want to get a 2k2 BMW 330i 5-speed. I really miss running the gears and after test driving a 2k1 330i I'm in love with that car and the way it handles, looks, and accelerates!! Anyone interested in buying my car? It has 42K miles on it and was purchased in Aug. 99'. I'll take $20,000 for it!

I've entertained that option but not really considering it too viable b/c I'd have to pay for labor to take it off and then shipping and handling. I'd preferably like to sell the whole car as a package if possible. Make me an offer on the SCer and I'll consider it.

well it was fun. I just had my Stillen FSTB installed and It does the wonder on the corner. I guess I spend enough money on the max at this moment.

We shall meet again soon perhaps with more people and let's see what are you guys up too with the car and the mods and YJ how's the tranny any news? are you getting a new one?

and Y pipe could be next on the list and Travis how's your fuel consumption like with the Y pipe on, any different?
looking at how much gas this maxima take, I need to consider that.
