a few months ago i noticed the brake moan that is specified in the TSB. however i didnt know that the TSB was even out so i got it fixed. they resurfaced my rotors and said that i had to pay for it because i had more than 8k miles on my car. should i now go back with the tsb and my service records and try to get my money back?

 

Hey there - Nissan has a 12 month 12,000 mile "LIMITED WARRENTY ON NISSAN REPLACEMENT PARTS AND ACCESSORIES".

"Except for audio components, this warranty is for 12 months or 12000 miles from the date of installation or purchase, whichever is earlier. However, the warranty on replacement parts and accessories insallted in a nissan vehicle while it is covered by a nissan warranty which would have covered the part had it been installed in the cehicle at the manufacturer will not end before the end of that warranty".

Basically, your warranty on your brakes started from the day you purchased the car - up to 12 months or 12,000 miles whichever comes first. If you are in that window, take the TSB number, show them that page in the warranty book, and make them give you your money back. If not, call Nissan and handle it at that level - bad news for the dealer. Goodluck
