TOYO tires

My 2000 Maxima, with factory TOYO tires, has 23400 miles on it. How many miles do the tires usually last? The tread seems to be quite shallow.

They last different amounts depending on how you drive. I replaced my toyos after about 22K miles because the two rear ones were pretty worn out. If you rotated them every 7500 miles (?), then they'd last longer.

Good time to look at getting new rims and low-profile tires!

Why new rims & what are low-profile tires? I have had the tires rotated at about every 5750 miles.

The factory tires should last at least 40k miles unless you abuse them...if there really worn maybe it's out of alignment and thats nissan's fault.

New rims because they look cooler and personalize your Maxima. If you get 17 or 18 or bigger wheels, you need\should go with low profile tires, they are the slim looking tires you see on a lot of Hondas and custom cars. Try Nittos, Kumhos, Pirellis, or Yokohamas.

If your tread is still good (not sure how to measure it exactly), then keep your tires.
