Does anyone else's 2K or 2K1 ping everynow and then? Mine does, and sometimes it seems the knock sensor takes a long time to figure it out. When it does, it seems to lose 40 horses. Mine seems to do it on 93 octane sometimes too.
Is there a fix for this, or is this just the way it is?

 

some people have complained of pinging. The ignition coils could be bad, but perhaps you can try switching to another brand of gas first. Also, you should always run 93 if you are experiencing pinging....

 

have the same problem ..car pings now and then only on heavy acceleration .. never on day to day regular driving, took it to the dealer and after 3 days and back and forth with this group, i got them to order 6 new coil packs, hope that solves the problem.

parts are on back order and its been a week now ...i use 93 since day one from Mobil and exxon ....

if you get any info let me know, also, if the coil packs cure my pinging i will sure to share with the forum, as this seems to be a taboo problem that seems to be surfacing now ....

Anyone know what the igintion coils cost? I had pinging with my popcharger and I figure I might have 1 or more bad coils and I'd love to replace them if it's reasonable.

 

when i get mine done will let you know teh cost ... i actually have a good par with me dealer who is accross the street from my work

also, keep in mind 3 infront are diff from the back.

P/n are 22448-2Y000 and 22448-2Y005 ..dont know which is front or back.
