Bye bye Maxima

Well, I was in a very bad accident last night in my maxima. I was going around 65 and while turning on a slight curb, the back wheels on the stock potenzas gave away. I turned the steering wheel the other way and it caused the car to keep sliding and almost did a 180 while crashing to the curb and people said that it flipped about 5 times. I can't believe it. My max is totalled but I'm happy to say that all that happened to me was that I got a huge bump on my head and the airbag fractured my wrist. You can't even tell what kind of car it is. The whole front end and hood is totally gone and one of the wheels flew off somewhere. Well, it's a that nothing bad happened to me but my max is totally destroyed. I can't even find the Stillen touring spoiler that I put on a month before. Oh well.. I learned my lesson. It's been great driving the max but there it goes....Later...

Glad you survived in one piece and you'll get another car I'm sure, that's what insurance is for.

Yeah I've seen pix of some pretty bad wrecks with 5th gens with owners coming out more or less unscathed...

Glad you're okay, hope everything works out fine.

Man same thing happened to my friend a little while ago with a 4th Gen Max....He was pulling a sharp turn with 2 passengers in his car...rearend fishtailed, pulled the car across the other lane (thank god no on coming traffic!), slammed the rear end into a telephone pole which spun him back and then ran into a 6-8 inch curb...TOTALLED his Max. But everyone was okay...not a single scratch

I think it's an issue with the beam suspension on the rear...it sux!

He ended up blaming the whole thing on a squirrel

You are very lucky to still be alive...some higher power must be trying to tell you something...

I can hear it now : "Get a 2k2 SE"

Re: Bye bye Maxima

Glad to hear you’re okay!!! But, sorry your car didn’t survive the incident...

My 4th generation didn’t survive my head-on collision either. Some rice-boy turned left in front of me when I was going 50. Oh, wait officer...I mean 45, as posted on the sign. It totaled both cars. Only had my stereo in the thing for three weeks too. Damn the luck!

But, hey...I walked away relatively unharmed. So, the cars are built pretty safe. And, like me, you will move onto a bigger, better and faster Max in the future too!!!

Hope the wrist heals soon...

glad to hear that you're otay.. i hope you got your head scanned after the accident because although you can't feel it, sometimes there might be hemerige going on inside there.. take care of yourself and don't sock no walls or people right after your wrist heals. or else it'll fracture again..

Thanks for the concern guys. I don't know if I'll be getting another Maxima anytime soon. I'm just a poor college kid. Got the Max exactly a year ago in this month. I'll post pictures later on of what it looks like now. People don't believe that I was in the car. It looks really bad.

Great to hear you didn't get seriously hurt. Looks like you fell victim to the stock Potenzas.
