Im just curious...Ive been "toying" with the idea for a few months and just wondering if anyone else has done it, and what the results might have been. Ive had nitrous before.....and really liked it

Were you thinking about a dry or wet kit. It seems to me the faster nissan's use like a 40-50 shot wet kit. Of course it helps to have a JWT ECU with Nos program .

Ive used both dry and wet before. But, Id rather go wet for the Maxima since I might transfer this kit to another car at a later time. This other car will work better with a wet kit due to other tuning issues.

Apparently, I need NOS to out-run you at the track. If you combine r/t and your faster e/t. Maybe I could make up the second or so with the NOS . . . then again . . .

That NOS is only a matter of time for you!!!!

Check out the new Turbo Magazine and the Project Maxima part 3. It got a Zex nitrous kit. Good power increase too.

No prob...I went by Barnes & Noble anyway! They did comment in the article that something wasnt quite right with the fuel system as the gains should have been higher for 55 shot. Apparently, the fuel pressure would max out at 60 psi. This is strange.

It didn't make sense to me either, the power they got from the kit wasn't bad considering its $2000 less than a supercharger. I might have to get some nitrous

Well, I think the way to go would be a wet kit anyway. Then, if there are indeed fuel pressure concerns, they would be negated anyway.

Im thinking about slapping a kit on..... I think a 100 shot would do nicely.

100 shot?! I would start with a 40 or 50 shot and go from there. I got a system in the garage waiting for install after the break in of se-a. This system was on a neon with the 40 shot and he was in 13's no prob. Then gettin greedy a 75 shot bent the tranny input shaft. (bye bye tranny hello warranty).
Anyways, im not saying the max tranny(5spd) cant handle 100 shot i dunno i wouldnt want to be the first to try it though.

Does nitrous void a warranty?

Nitrous only voids you warranty if they find out you were using it. If you smoke your tranny using a 100 shot do you think they should warranty it? The nice thing about nitrous is its fairly easy to remove.

I know someone that ran a 120shot NOS on his Maxima...

Car ran awesome... 12.80's with just the NOS and an intake.
It ran flawlessly for a while...until one day he forgot to put the fuse back in for his fuel pump. Three passes later...KABBOOOOOOOOOOM!! He put his car back to stock and brought it to the dealer. They installed a $6,000 new motor for him FREE OF CHARGE!

Who knows how long his motor would've gone w/ that 120shot had he not forgotten to put his fuel pump fuse back in. I guess we'll never know...cuz its not on the car anymore.

Yes, nitrous does void your warranty... IF you're stupid enough to TELL THE DEALERSHIP or not take it off before you bring it in.

Nitrous is cool...but it costs like $40 to fill the bottle everytime...i dunno about you guys...but for me...that would get old REAL QUICK.

I'd rather shoot for 12's with a turbo or supercharger cuz then the power is ALWAYS there.

Except Ive got a shop down here that fills the bottles for $18.50! Cheapest place around! Ive filled a million bottles there! But, on other cars of course.

Ill bet a 5g Maxima with a 100 shot would run low-mid 13's on street tires.

SEE WHAT I MEAN!!!!
1,000,000 refills @ $18.50 a pop = $18,500,000!!!!
Like I said...that would get old REAL QUICK! LOL
