3M Scotchcal protective film

Does anyone know someone who has used it. It is a clear protective film that can be cut and applied to protect against paint chips. It can be removed without damaging the paint.

i dont have it, but the guy was trying to sell it to me when i was buying my max, for something rediculous, like $300. apparently, it goes on just the front of the car like a bra, and on the mirrors, and you can wax right over it.

I couldn't find anything on pricing at that website. They sell through dealers. Anyone actually used this film? I thought that the metal is supposed to "breathe"...the corrosion might develop underneath. It may be a good investment though.

some people have it

Colonel has it on his car. You can hardly see it and it seems to be working. I would get it but it is expensive at $300, so I'll wait. It is like a thick window tint film but clear.

Yeah, I got it here in Cincy. It is a life saver! Yes, a little expensive but no worries about maintenence. Wash, wax and treat as if it were just a regular piece of metal. As for the removing part, it can be removed, but you will not be able to use the kit again and it will require a lot of cleaning. Its pre-cut and unless you like experiences in torture I would have someone do it. I had it done at 4G Marketing in Blue Ash. They also tinted my windows and did a heck of a job at both.

You can also look at www.xpel.com for the predone kits.
