Can you provide more details? What kind of 'hangup'? Do you mean it has a delayed shift or that it does not shift at all?

Hang ups with auto

When flooring it all the way from 1st going into second there seems to be a dealy when shifting.
Also when flooring the car real quick and then releasing the accelerator pedal the engine seems to stay at the high rpm for a few seconds.

This must be something wrong with the ECU
I've heard lots of people with this problem.

simple..

need the new TCM. call the dealer and make an appointment. if they have never heard of this, just let us know, we'll round up the service bulletin for you to print out for them.

all.....

made on or before 4/00. its not a defect. its programmed that way. The core demographic of buyers of the maxima (males 45-60 yrs old) dont spend much time at near wide open throttle, so they never see the delay. Its only with agressive driving. Its programmed there to provide a more luxury feel. (not the delay, but the slip between 1-2 shift... the delay is a side-effect of that)

MAXIMA

I thought the maxima was suppose to be driven aggresively.

IT is made for that kind of punishment.

nope.. 'fraid not

the majority of max owners dont drive aggressively. its a grocery getter.. A very nice, fast grocery getter, but one none the less.
