Called up Cattman yesterday and ordered a set... I have no idea when I will get them though. They have to be modified to fir the 5th gen and I will probably also get the modified raised upper strut mounts....

UMD-

I was under the impression that the AGX would be a bolt on application when they were released for the 00-01s. Is this not true? What needs to be modified? Cost?

Thanks for the info...I have been looking forward to going with the AGX since I found out about them. I plan on going with my stock springs, I just want to be able to dial in a little stiffer ride.

these are actually for the 4th gen. Cattman is modifying these to fit the 5th gen also. I think the bolt pattern is slightly different and the upper strut mounts are different. They are going for $380 + $20 for the modifications. If you are sticking with the stock springs, you can simply use the 4th gen upper strut mounts....

The check is in the mail.

Need to have the correct bolt pattern? To my knowledge, the only major difference is the strut rod (between 4th gen and 5th gen struts), which is why we need to modify the strut mounts.

If I call Cattman, will they know this and be able to help? Also, do they have an network of mechanics that will install their products? I would like to find someone local that can do the work.

Thanks again!

cattman is specifically selling them both for the 4th and 5th gen. If you call up and order, you tell them that they are for a 5th gen and they should do the modifications. After that, it should just be a straight suspension install...

Yeah its real ghey. when i have my friend with a dealers license call them up and order them. Just being lazy right now. I need new motor mounts, mine are on their way out b/c of drag racing. I think with the motor mounts and the struts i should drop down in the 14.6's easily. hehe ran 3 14.7's last night.

Stupid newbie question!

Ok folks....

I am getting my progress springs any day now (I hope) will these shocks be a good set up with the progress springs? I know I am going to hear ...Get GC's...but all I have to say to that is Hell No! There is nothing worse than having a 25 grand car that rides like a 5 grand hooptie!

From what I understand these shocks are adjustable. Is this really critical for someone like my self. I am just looking for a good shock that can rebound a little better than the stockers. When I hit an expansion joint in the freeway it is a scary moment!

UMD-

One more question - I would like to do the AGX but retain stock springs...you mentioned earlier in the post to go with the 4th Gen strut mounts. My question - will staying with stocks springs cause any problems? I don't want to replace my springs because I don't want to lower the car (I love big wheel well gaps ).

Thanks again.

I doubt there would be any problems.... The stock springs should work perfectly fine with the KYBs... You can confirm all of this by e-mailing Cattman. Brian is a cool guy and really helpful.
