Chip!

Got nailed by a rock this morning, took off a 1/4 inch strip over the emblem on the front and took a 1/8 inch chip out of the lip of the hood in the same area.

Which brings up my old question...bras. No not for me, but for the car. If I put one of these on, only for highway travel and removing while driving around town (I do 80% highway and 20% around town). Would I be able to buff out any scratches caused by the bra?

Also looking for some touch up ideas to cover these areas so they look close to the way they were before.

As far as the touch up idea goes, the best thing to do is use the touch up paint and put a small drop of it in the chip, it will level itself out. DO NOT try to fill it in one shot. Just do that, and if needed, do it again. It will get as close to level as possible, but obviously, it will still be noticible.

As far as the bra, you should not any scratches with the bra, I mean lets say some sand or dirt gets under neath it, well it only REALLY going to scratch when you remove it. Even then it will be VERY VERY light surface scratches that can be removed with rubbing compound.

Check this out:

http://www.carbras.com/perfectfit/nissan.htm

These guys sell to Nissan dealers in Canada as OEM bras but do not have a contract with US, which is why they sell on the net.

Can anyone in Canada speak of the quality of there OEM bra?

IMHO, bras on cars look as silly as bras on men.

Unfortunately it is the only way to protect Nissan's lousy front paint. Someone on the board had a small plastic bug guard that would provide some protection to hood, and it looked decent. Try www.autosupermart.com and buy Langka's paint repair kit if you are serious in your look for repair.

Nope. Here's a better way.

Just get the damb Nissan bra from Dave. I did bcause I do a lot of highway driving. It sucks and the quality does not seem to be first quality, but for $100 it is certainly worth it. Ur car cost $29k. Just make sure that u only use it for highway driving. The quality of our paint really sucks. Also make sure that when it rains, take it off asap.

I did a search on Langka. As well as read up on it at langka.com. Sounds like a great product...but...the only responses I saw on here to it are (DONT GET IT!!! or WASTE OF TIME!!!). No one left any 'real' comments on the product.

Could someone speak to weather this worked or not? If it didn't, what did you have left after trying this product (scuffed paint, blob, etc)?
