i would say check your axles. im pretty sure when you hear clicking when turning the wheel that means the axle boot is split open. if they are oem, your better off replacing them with raxles. better quality but they are new. no point in rebuilding them. they are reasonably priced as well. im going to replace mine w/ raxles when my axles crap out on me. any specific speeds or just happens all the time?

I'm having sort of a similar problem. My 2000 SE axle/steering column? clicks softly (but noticeably) when I turn to the left. But not the right. Anyone venture as to what this may be?

If the axle boot is damaged, how long till it fails? How much to fix?

I'd say CV axles... How long until it fails is completely random. I had both my CV boots split and drove another 1k+ miles before I replaced them. My dad had a split boot on his Accord and didn't fix it for a year or so... A decent shop will be about $150 or so per side (IIRC).

If you get your axles replaced make sure they use new ones (not rebuilt)! Ive bought rebuilt ones put them on and they were clicking the first turn i made.

the axle boots are not split and the clicking only comes from the right side.

Check the strut bearing and that everything is nice and tight and correctly put together.

All these answers sound good i would also check the tie rods i had a bad clunk or knock when turnig or even standing still. having done new axles 3,000 miles or so ago, i went with changing sway links and tierods.
Now steering is nice n tight and knock free

Might be a bad strut mount. With my '99, i had struts and mounts all replaced. Then within a couple days I had a clicking that sounded pretty similar to what you are describing. It had maybe a slight sqeak to the click?

To make a long story short......only when they replaced it with a mount from the dealer did it actually get fixed.
