Idler pulley bolt

Gentlmen:

I want to get this idler pulley bolt out, is it threaded clockwise, meaning if I have to remove it I go anti-clockwise. I have tried so hard to get it off, that I am about to strip the bolt.

I got my belts replaced longtime ago, the torque on it is 20 lbs, don't know why I am struggling with this.

Pl. help.

what do you mean by "elbow grease". If I soak it any further with PB blaster, my wrench will spin.

How could Nissan design a f.cking frame where we have to use a wrench to remove the stupidass soft bolt? Couldn't they have bent the frame with an indent so that sockets could get in to attack the bolt?

Well life sucks, I stripped the bolt.

Stop *****ing, take the wheel off, get under your car, grab some vice grips, and get that bolt off. It's not that hard.

I am able to do it with removing the wheel. But, if/when I strip the bastard, the wheel is coming off

id.ots stop giving lousy answers

First, the folks who could not contribute to the thread should shut up big time.

Now, no one came and told me the pulley bolt was threaded in which direction, that in itself tells me the contributors to this thread are misplaced with their lousy replies

BTW, finally replaced my alternator, took me a whole 4 hrs to get it out, the pulley bolt was stripped, removed it for hr and then took a good hard bolt from my strut hat and put it in (also a 14mm, but a lot stronger bolt). I wonder how Nissan could put the main bolt for the alternator behind the compressor

Stupid idiots would design a vehicle like that. Anyway, to get this whole exercise done, I had to drain coolant from the radiator, take the fans out of the way (in the process nicked the radiator here and there), bring the bad **** compressor down, then got to the main pivot bolt. A dumbass engineer would do a better job.

I just looked into my wife's highlander, Toyota is kickassing for a reason. A child can get the alternator out in 30 min, it is right on the top.

Anyway, this whole exercise has made me feel really bad about Nissan's engg.
