So I got hit with the deadly blown LED. I am going to replace the LED with some new ones, what is the best way to remove the LED out of the angel eye? dremel?

 

Even if you replace the LEDs, they will still blow eventually. Spend the $40 and get CCFL rings, 4x brighter, can be seen in daytime, and you'll only need to replace the inverter once in a while.

CCFLs are fragile but they are evenly lit unlike LED rings. The one advantage LED angle eyes has over CCFLs is that you can replace the LED rather than replace the whole ring. Either or you'll still have to open up the headlights, but LEDs would be the cheaper route in the long run.

 

Oh come on, all of the CCFL rings nowadays are encased in a thick plastic casing. You've gotta be a caveman to crack one while installing.

 

I never turn on my headlights - i drive with fogs at night so they're coo.

Why hasn't anybody considered any Umnitza DDE's? They are quality pieces

 

The Umnitza Maxima kit rings are the old style thin lines, whereas the E46 kit rings on eBay and sold by Umnitza as well are enclosed in a plastic casing with grooves, and aluminum backing to reflect light more.

 

If they are illegal then why do BMW's have them?
