Insanely expensive now for these valve covers. Anyone recommend getting a set used off a 6th gen part out ?

I got quoted almost $500 for the pair from the local dealership. I think it was like $280 for the front cover and $180 for the rear. I checked a couple of the links referenced earlier in this thread, but they're not much better. Does anyone have a better parts source that is less expensive? It seems like the prices on these go up daily.

Since I don't want to drop $500 for new valve covers, has anyone had success with pulling the originals and reinstalling with a bead of RTV around the spark plug tubes?

I found one of the pair at frsport.com for about $30. Just search for the part number 13264-7Y010. No luck on the other.

So the cheapest price for the rear valve cover ive seen from reading this thread is $97, and $ for the gasket? I dont need both, just doing the rear because # 5 spark plug tube seal has oil in it.

No sense in doing one side for one plug hole, get the upper set and do every gasket from the heads up amd anything else you can get to, i think the set was 60ish when i bought it

Plus have to remove the upper plenum to get to the rear anyways and we dont re use gaskets thats honda ****

Don't just reseal the spark plug tube gaskets with RTV; it won't stop oil from going in. My old rear valve cover had this done, & it wasn't effective with the #5 tube.

I reused mine when i did the spark plugs in the rear, but i think its not sealed correctly. And the valve covers are pretty expensive now for the 04, i was quoted $150 just for the rear valve cover from nissan dealership here. Anyone used the ebay set without issues?

Anyone tried these? Don't want to cheap out to save $70. Seems like a pretty good deal (as far as these go) and others in the line got good reviews.

Hi all.

I'm parting out my 2002 Maxima this weekend. Is anyone interested in my valve covers? I replaced the Bank 1 (firewall) cover in the last 3-4 years ago with a new one made for a 2003. The Bank 2 cover is the original.

Best,
Keith

Completed the 2002 Maxima rear valve cover

I just wanted to thank the folks on this site for all of the great information that helped me complete this job. I recorded a video of the IM removal process just in case anyone else is thinking about tackling this job.

You're welcome. This site has saved me thousands of dollars since 2004 when I bought my 02. The dealer wanted close to $1000 to swap out the valve cover but you guys gave me the confidence. This job is totally achievable with some patience and the proper tools.
