Gas Filler neck Pitted? Cause SES

I have had a lot of issues with my 2k1 se AE.

I was told that the gas filler neck was pitted and causing a vacuum leak
- that then causes an SES.

I can't get the search to come up with something here, and 20 pages of
questions didn't seem to touch on this point.

Has anyone had this problem?

is there an inexpensive "fix".

1) buy a new filler neck if available and replace.
2) take out old neck and get some JB weld.
3) call up shops and get some quotes this shouldn't be very hard to fix or expensive imo

What is the code that getting for SES light? If it's a P0455 then chances are it's not the pitted gas spout that's causing the problem. I went through this about a year and a half ago.

New gas cap

I had the same problem with a ses a few weeks ago....I spoke with a friend who is a nissan technician and he said for me to take use emery paper around the gas fill rim because it is usually rusted then to paint it black. Also get a new gas cap and put some vaseline on the new cap gasket and you should not have any more ses light issues...I also had a gasoline smell before replacing gas cap and now no smell.....Just my two cents.....
