Engine Revs Dropping?
Engine Revs Dropping?
Sometimes when I am coming to a stop in my 5sp 2k max, the revs of the engine will drop below 500rpms to about 200rpms where the car almost dies. It also does that when i push my foot on the clutch and let the revs drop. I also noticed on startup sometimes, my car will DIE or will BARLEY start. It starts and then the revs drop to about 200 or so. is it my idle air control valve?
how do i tell the car to relearn? and is it hard for me to learn how to do this?
and it happens anytime, not just when i am low on gas

its not the iacv, that would cause high rpm like mentioned earlier, most likely the sensor next to the tps on the throttle body (forgot whats its called), common problem on the vq30 engines.
the relearn procedure works on throttle by wire, but you have a throttle by cable so do worry about that.

I also have similar problems, inconsistent rev dropping, high rpm (1100-1300) for about the first 3 minutes of driving. However I bought the car used and have service invoices for a replaced IACV and all six coilpacks. Ive seen the throttle relearn procedure and heard of reducing the slack in the cables (not sure what this intitles tho). I havent tried either and cant access the relearn write up due to new forum server. Recently Ive noticed a substantial loss in power, and will be buying a new MAF from DaveB soon, however dont know what to do further.
