Seatbelt Shoulder Pads

I just got a set of MOMO seatbelt shoulder pads and cause the seatbelt buckle stay high up on the belt they stay loose when they aren't buckled. Anyone know how to take the little plastic button out of the belt without damging the seatbelt. Thanks a lot.

Would you weaken the belt if you took the plastic piece off?

That button is only there to stop the belt latch from falling to the floor

I know that's what it's there for, i am just wondering if it will mess the belt up if i take it off. Guess i should just leave it hanging a little loose. Thanks
