Performance Mufflers

Alright, so after hearing this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_UK-Zj0YN0s, I have a burning desire to get a performance muffler for my '03 Max.

My budge doesn't allow me to buy stuff on based on coolness alone, so has anyone experienced improved gas mileage with something like this? Also, are there any other benefits I could reasonably consider, such as reduced engine strain / increased longevity? ... or is it pretty much just a cool sound?

Also, can anyone tell what kind of Flowmaster that is?
