The finish on titanium edition rims

I dont know if this should be here or in the detailing section or the tire and wheel section. I'll try my luck here. Is it just me or is the finish of these rims really delicate? My T.E. rims are scuffed up noticeably on one rim and its driving me crazy. Does Nissan make a touch up paint for this style rim? These rims are rare and I want to keep them as clean as possible. The scuff marks were from the previous owner btw. thanks

be care full with what you clean them with. the paint will wipe right of.they start turning black with the wrong cleaner. our detail company just had to pay to get them powder coted. they still do not look like the original paint.

the clearcoat on my wheels are already damaged by the previous owner, so...I don't care at all..
ask those wheel shop, may be they know where you could get your wheel restored.

That is just a color... most body shops should be able to match it. GL

ive seen a lot of shops try to match it, but its not 100%. ive also heard some shops do a perfect match, so go make sure if you get it done its at a reputable place. or even possibly the company that refinishes wheels for nissan.

ya ive been long debating what to do w/ mine...whether or not to bondy the curb rash and repaint them or just go w/ new wheels. How much dinero (generally) we talking to have a shop refinish them?

No bodyshop is going to match that color.Wheel repair place quoted me more than $100 to fix the rash.

Let us know what nissan says.

There was a TSB for this issue, but the jist of it was tell customer to use correct wheel cleaner and deny warranty claim.

The paint is the same as the polished titanium color that came on the '03s. (Paint code WV2) Have a shop re-paint them or do it yourself. I plan on doing this once my wheels get a little more chipped/scuffed.

I think so also. The body color and the shine in the paint of the wheels is different. But I am sure a good body shop will be able to match it. My wheels are pretty bad. I am going to get them redone next year. My neighbor got his wheels fixed, sand blasted and then re-painted them. They look brand new. Cost about $400 smackers though

At the Bottom for touch up paint. I just bought some. I am sort of thinking about getting them chrome'd out. Meh, maybe next year.

My buddy had one of his wheels redone last year as a majority of his wheel peeled. Dont know how that happened, but the shop said that they could repaint it back to 100%. It was close, but it didnt have the "shine" that these wheels have. It turned out to be dull. Mine arent peeling thankfully, I just have some curb rash as well on 1 wheel.
