P1147/67 Mfr. Control A/F Metering
About a yr ago i installed HotShot headers.
I simulated my 2 secondary o2 sensors with a dual output o2 sim. (as recomended). But i did get a CEL code from my primary front (bank 2) sensor because it was hitting the alternator cause the bung was in the wrong spot. I finally decided to fix it last week. I ordered a new primary o2 and took the old one off and had a new bung welded in the correct spot.
Code gone...
But about a month ago i got 2 additional codes.
P1147- Heated Oxygen Sensor 2 Max Voltage Monitoring (Bank 1)
P1167- Heated Oxygen Sensor 2 Max Voltage Monitoring (Bank 2)
These are the secondary o2's that were simulated... Now they are throwing codes. The o2 sim has both green lights on showing it is working.
Is it normal for the o2 sim to stop working or has the ECU finally over-ridden the simulator? Will buying a new "sim" fix it.
Or do i need to actually go back and weld in new o2 bung's into the y pipe and let them work like they are supposed to??
Any help will be much appreciated...

Have you tried clearing the codes? I have mine simulated and codes dealing w/ the heater circuit randomnly pop up sometimes.
Search. Theres a thread about it and what your options are. Ill try and find it and give u the link.

Thanks for the link. I have read that in the past...
It seems like the point is the ECU is sooo dam picky that is anything not reading EXACTLY like normal it will throw these codes. Again i cannot tell if i am getting these intermittently or constant since i just got rid of my primary o2 code, so i will have to drive for a while and see if they go away or not. In that link someone also said it is not uncommon for the o2 sim to go bad, or not work after a time period. I am thinking the best way to fix it will be to extend my o2's into my y-pipe.

wanted to bump this up since I got the same exact codes 2 days ago while driving...1147/67. I have HS headers with an 02 sim as well...it was installed back in September though. My mechanic said the rear o2 sensor (bank 1 and 2) is working but its just acting "lazy"....he cleared the code and told me to keep driving and not to worry about it. He isnt the one who installed the sim so he doesnt know too much about it...
any need to get a new sim? to the OP, did your SES eventually go away?

Whats the correlation here??

I think almost everyone with headers and sims get that code. I get them too. The ses stays on for a few days and goes away. I think the sim sometimes takes a few seconds to kick in and send out the simulated voltage that the ECU is expecting. ECU doesn't get what it wants and throws a code. I have no idea why though.
