BUT....WHEN I PUT NEW BATTERY IN...EVERYTHING WORKS FINE.NO LIGHTING PROBLEMS,OR ANYTHING ELSE..CAR STARTS UP AN RUNS PERFECT.

...> AND BE4 THIS SYSTEM FRIED MY ALTERNATOR.MEANING 2 WEEKS AGO ..CAR WOULD ALWAYS START AND RUN .BUT SUMTIMES WHEN ITS FIRST STARTED THE POWER(LIGHTING INSIDE CAR EX.> DASHBOARD,CLUSTER,) WOULD BE A LITTER DIMMER THEN USUAL MEANING ITS NOT GETTING THE RIGHT VOLTAGE..but after a few minutes it would be running fine ..wit normal power...this only happened sumtimez ..not always ..BUT TENSIONER WAS MESSED UP,BUT NOT BROKEN YET...??INFO PLZ..

Have you used a volt meter to test the alternator output? A volt meter isn't very expensive, maybe $25 or so. You definitely should clean the terminals, they need to be clean for proper charging system operation.

After you clean the terminals spray some protectant over them to prevent corrosion in the future. Any mechanic will probably have the spray, so next time you bring your car in for an alignment or something, ask him to do it.

Your problem is the subs in your trunk, Added weight in the trunk FTL

Since you have a heavy system in the car, you should get a 160 amp alternator, I have one but I don't have a system.

An upgraded alternator is the LAST thing you need to do to help with a system. Sorry, but your suggestion is overkill, and more than likely, not necessary.

Actually one of the best things to use on the battery terminals to prevent corrosion is Vaseline. You don't need to use too much.
