I know that the speedometer on the 5th gen reads up to 160mph but does anyone know what the top speed of the Maxima actually is???? Ive gone 130 several times with more acceleration left to use but havent had the ballz to go past 130. I guess an even better question for everyone is: whats the fastest youve ever had your maxima up to??????

Their was a big debate about this over at Fresh Alloy. The only indepent sourse (00-01s), R&T ran one to 140mph (SE 5-speed). In the Nissan broshure they claim 140mph too. One member here claimed the could do over 150mph? I would assume actuall speed (GPS or Radar, NOT SPEEDO- ITS FAST) would closer to the 140 number.

142 on the speedo...speedo is about 2 miles off due to wheels. So...140 for me

Does it throw a CEL if you disconnect it? Any side effects besides the possibility of you killing yourself from going too fast?

15 mph is way too fast. I was hoping for 10 mph.

 

Driving over the speed limit is illegal and will not be tolerated by the law enforcement agency.

I have a 2k1 SE auto with a JWT Pop charger. I've hit 120-124mph, but I ran out of road and had to slow down (90mph) for a turn. How fast can I go with this mod alone? Everyone that I've seen has been a 5-speed. Thanks.

 

Probably around 131-135-140... somewhere around there (speed limiter).

 

i wonder.... would having Z-rated tires allow you to go faster? of course taping up your car will help it a bit too... remember to fold in your mirrors... but then you can't see the PoPos after you...

Got my dad's 2001 SE Automagic upto 130 last night. I had been looking for a long straight-away for a long time, and last night I finally found one. I shut it down at 130 because of some pretty strong cross winds. I was very surprised how fast it went from 60 to 130. It downshifted to 2nd, and at about 5K RPMs, I turned of the OD. Then shifted to 3rd and steadily went upto 130. I'll try another run in a few days.

i was taking an srt4 and gti on the kennedy i saw them two racing in my rear view , so decided to join in..... i let them pass me up i was goin 70.. after i gave them a lead of like 7 cars, i punched it and she flew!!!! i got up2 135 no problem blew right past both of them laughing. thats the fastest i ever went. 132 but i think if u take the limiter off she can do 150 .

btw how many miles is too many to put s soooper charger on an 02 max. i have 87k is it worht it?

did the 20th aniv max come stock w/ a super charger?

i raced my friends 95 max both stock. he kept up even.. i was like wtf???? how come?

I know you're new here, but you gotta read the rules man. There's a couple things wrong with this post:

1. Discussion of street racing is not allowed on this board (a bannable offense).

2. You bumped an 8 year old thread to ask a random question about superchargers that can be found by using the search feature (a flammable offense). If you want to know about putting a supercharger on your car, then look in the "Supercharged/Turbocharged" section on the main page, where you will find the info you need. Just to save you the flaming over there... no maxima comes stock with a supercharger.

3. You're not beating an SRT-4 in a stock maxima giving him a 7 length head start on the highway.. lol. If this really happened, then he stopped racing waaaay before you passed him.
