I found one local with said only 24k miles on it, question is their a vin number on it so I can run a carfax on it and get a better idea of its history? if so where is the vin located?

Yes, there is a VIN on the tranny. If it is still mounted on the car the VIN will be in the front underneath the battery facing out towards the bumper. If its not mounted on the car you should see it with no problem.
