Leaking Struts????

About a week ago, I took my car in to get a leaking oil pan fixed. While there, the shop did an inspection on my car and wrote up a list of things that they found. I did not read the list until after I got home, but one of the items were WEAK STRUTS. In parenthesis beside this was (LEAKING). Can anyone tell me what a strut could possibly be leaking? I know these shops will tell you anything, but I found this interesting.

They are the original factory struts. Not sure if they fit the description above or not.

All struts are oil filled. It's the oil that makes them work as they are hydraulic. If they have over 100K or if you spent a lot of time on rough roads, it's probably time. A second opinion is always a good idea though.

It's probably time since I am around 105K. I do not seem to have a problem with them however. I always thought that when your struts were shot, the car would pretty much bounce all over the place. I do eventually want to get new springs to lower the wheel gap. I guess I may need to look into struts also.

you def need to look into new struts with lowering springs. if the struts are leaking oil, they arent necessarily shot but do need to be replaced. the reason your ride is fine is that its likely a small leak and wouldnt really make a difference in the ride until the oil is drained
