2 Acura CL-S's at track, 15.2 and 15.6!!!

I don't know what all the hype is about these cars. These guys ran like 6 times before I left and the best run was 15.2. Not to mention that the mph of the 15.6 was 89 and the 15.2 was running 92!!

I am sure they are going to come over and talk some smack, but I was there and saw it for myself. Well out goes the idea of these guys saying that they run 14's stock!!

Uh oh, now you've gone and done it...My friend's CL-S runs the 1/4 in 15.0 90% of the time, but he has yet to break into 14's and said he's only seen one do it stock. A lot of it depends on where you're at too. I could see them running 14's stock, but not as consistently as they'd like to think.

I know that from a roll I would definately pull from them, but from a dead stop I don't know! I just broke a motor mount tonight at the track because of excess wheel hop and now I will be more careful on my launches to prevent this!!

Was one Bronze with a AEM CAI and a header. He ran 15-flat at best last time we met.

How did you know you broke a motor mount? I guess it's time for some Place Racing mounts.

hahah..... yeah, our times sucked tonight. But you forgot to mention one thing....

There was a guy with the ridiculously over-hyped 2002 255hp 3.5L V6 Nissan Maxima SE automatic running 15.6 - 15.8!!! Wow!! That's real impressive!!

I like the Max. It's a decent car for the money. But it isn't any more or less impressive than my CL-S or anything else out there for that matter.

And BTW, my best time was 15.167 biatch... no rounding up!

And just to let you know... there has been DOCUMENTED proof on acura-cl.com of a STOCK CL-S running the 1/4 in 14.6. And 14.3 with headers/intake.

We need to put together a meet TL/CL vs. Maxima meet in December. You down Goldy?

BTW, nice car. At least in the 10ft I drove it .

P.S: Your reaction times suck, almost as bad as mine.

oh sure... I'm always down for a meet! I need to do it after the 30k service though (I'm at 27k now).

yeah, I wasn't paying attention to reaction times at all. I was trying to brake-torque (which I also suck at) and launch. I have new tires (Kumhos) and if I knew how to launch this damn car I'd be in the 14s. Oh well...

Yeah my Rt's kicked ***. I was in the .6-.8 range.

Oh our CLs did look pimp though, you know the Gold and the Chrome wheels on mine looked tight fo sho.

The guy called our cars Infinti's at first.

so 15.6 for a Non-S at 86 degrees I think that is pretty good. Especially with the rims at 28 pounds a piece, stocks are 24.
But cause of my RT's I was able to stay with mark,
We need to do an Acura CL meet and Maxima.
My 3.2 CL will take any Auto Stock Maxima SE anyday. Bring it on

Ok ill bring it... my best is 15.6 too.. although im gonna gut my car clean and ice the manifold down etc.....
rt's dont mean crap though.. its the 60' times u have to be really concerned about.. i regularly get .500 - .600 rt's so if u wanna race first one to the finish line be ready

Sweet, it is so on. You can't do that stuff though i'm saying stock vs. stock. This Acura i'm not using for speed cause it really isn't a fast car at all. I'm gonna put TV's in it, and GPS, and PS2 in the back for well no one ever sits there but it will look cool
Probably looking at the SLK 32 AMG Jan 2003. That will be a car to race and drive fast I will keep the CL for pimp effect though hahaha. But in the mean time i'll beat your ***

Just curious what was your 60' time I was at like 2.38-2.40

I know your pain.

If I could keep from spinning the tires on the launch and reduce the wheel-hop from 1st-2nd, I'd be in the low 15s instead of 15.5.

Anyways, it'll be fun.

I got a CL but better put at 50 shot in it to get to that time
What are mods my ***
Reason why our times are so bad we are down in PHX, it is still in the upper 80s low 90s at night here.
Speaking on behalf of results at the track tonight for Max and CL owners.

Oh **** also you got the same tires as me. the non asymetrical Dunlop Sport 5000's I got 215/50/17

Had the Asymetrical on the Alero 235/45/17

Great tires, and for back home in NY they are sick in the snow I love em.

We have humidity that affects us out here on the east coast, but not nearly as much as the temp. there would. I'm from Lake Havasu originally, and the first time I took my old car, a stock '98 Accord V6 to Firebird, I was running 16.7's and up. I thought it might have been my driving, but a modded AV6 there told me that it was the heat, and he was only getting 16.4's with I/E. Not really fair to compare you all to those of us in the cooler climates...

Yeah it really hurts. Someone on our forum who is an absoulte physics genius said that every 10 degrees in temp is equivlent to about a 4% loss in HP. When y'all are running your cars at 40-50 degrees and we are running at 85-90 your talking about a world of difference. Waiting for Jan. to roll around then I will see what kinda difference the air temp does.

I'll be. I'm from BullHELL City.

How old are you? Just wondering, because I could have met at a sporting event or something back then.

Hehe, I'm sorry. I'm 21, gradded in '98. I was a receiver on our suctacular football team. Did you go to Mohave? That Golden Shovel is ours...

We have hot days out here too, but still not like AZ. I did my only runs on a mid-70's day with a nice breeze. It's still like 60 or so here in Va. Beach.

Why? So the Acura boys can make excuses left and right? They seem to always fall back on the "I paid more for my car, therefore it's better" excuse.

I had my run-in with a TL-S the other day in my CRX...

It was REALLY fun beating him. He then shouted out how i had a POS CRX and pulled the "I'm better than you cause i can spend $10K too much on a car cause it says Acura on it"

eh, some honda folk worry me.

Good ?Kill?

yeah well since i'm off at college i haven't been able to sell it...just sitting in my garage...i left town like a week after you stopped working and got a few calls but couldn't show the car or anything

so yeah i'm coming back over winter break...since the weather has cooled down a little bit i should be running low 15s...hopefully break into 14s (if i can adam owes me $50)...so maybe i'll gut my interior just for the occasion...so we are thinking of a track date around the beginning of january or so since i'm in town from dec16-jan16

I couldn't stand most of the tri-city area myself. Kinda like a big black hole. I wanted to get out of AZ while I was there, but now that I've lived in VA, I wanna go back. No offense to anyone who likes it here, but this state sucks ***. If only there was a Navy base in AZ...

Actually his was with me, and he ran twice once a 15.2 the other a 15.5 (missed second upshift) so I dont know where you got the 15.6-15.8 from. Hey biatch (as you like to say), if they are running these so called times in the 14 second range what happened to you??? You are a long way away from 14.6 much less 14.3!!

Hey goldy, what was your MPH?? My Stock 00' 5spd went 91.99 without my ooglie CAI on the car (Personally I think these are not as beneficial as people think).

"Agreed. I'm not laying down $1120.00 for headers if my ET is no better than that. Hell I ran a 15.087 @ 92.02 mph on Sept. 1st here in Ohio. Temp was about 83 with high humidity. I might run today (last day of the season for this particular track.) Temps right now are in the upper 30's!!! " <---- from the CL-S site!!!!

$1120 for a header and you are still in the 15's, even your own guys are ragging on you.

I think temp really kills the car. I still do not see how someone can run 14.7 in a stock CL-S. Someone on our board said 14.3 with Headers and Intake andp osted time slips and picture of his car. I'd like to see that cause I think it is impossible. I think best goldtypes can run will be like 14.7-14.8 when it is in the 50s and I might be able to get my CL down to 15.2-15.3 when the temp drops off a bit. Hey niether of our cars are really fast cars. We both have quiet cars, they sound nice, look nice, comfortable rides. LOng lasting. My buddy owns a Max SE 2000 and said it is a family car and so is the TL. CL and TL have the same engine same Accl times so he is right. It was nice though and the guys at the track can agree with me. Having a nice quiet car unlike those American POS that were running low to mid 14s but giving you a headache while you drove them.
If anyone noticed there were two cops in those Impala's. They had them Modded quite a bit they were running low 14s. The cop said to me this is a car to get chicks in, don't speed around in it. Same goes for the Max.

Well, just so long as you don't have an attitude about it....

I got excuses comin' out my ***... I have the LOWEST dyno of anyone on acura-cl.com - 17hp and 14 lb-ft lower than the guy running 14.3 with headers/intake. Maybe I can't drive? Maybe it was the heat? Maybe there's something wrong with the car? Maybe it's a combination of all these things. In the end, I really don't care. I like my car, you like yours (hell, even I like yours).

So don't trash talk to me, biatch... you WILL lose

I can believe 14's in a stock type-S since my friend gets so many 15.0's. Are you referring to running a 14.7 in AZ or anywhere? We did see a TL-S run 14.9x a couple weeks ago, but I think he had an intake. As a reference, I ran a 15.25 that day and my friend ran a 15.1x, and he's stock. That was on a 70's day, none of the 80's & 90's crap y'all have there. It was fairly humid after having rained the day before, but I'm not sure how that adds up and compares against the weather out there. I am impressed by GoldtypeS's car though if he's out there beating the type-S's with his CL. What kind of mods do you have? Did you put a type-S emblem on your car, or are you gonna keep it somewhat of a sleeper?

Your guy in the stands gave you the wrong facts. I too had somebody watching from the stand and I have my slip to prove it. I would attached a copy of it but I don't have a scanner to do it.

We did see a TL-S run 14.9x a couple weeks ago, but I think he had an intake. As a reference, I ran a 15.25 that day and my friend ran a 15.1x, and he's stock. That was on a 70's day, none of the 80's & 90's crap y'all have there. No mark has a Type S his is a gold Type S with headers and Intake.

The blue one with the Chrome wheels is mine. That is not an S. Mine is a stock 3.2 CL.

You seem like a much cooler guy than your friend. I was there with the other max guy until 9pm (and there were no other maxima's there) so I don't know where saying that either of us ran 15.6-15.9?? I ran 15.5 and the 02' max ran 15.2!!

Anyway, your car is obviously running well considering you are not a S type, however maybe your friend is upset that his car is not running up to par.
