Flywheel removal: what size bolt?

Trying to remove the flywheel on an 03 Maxima. What is the exact size of torx bolt used to remove the flywheel bolts? T50mm was a little too small and strips, T55mm is way too big. I would like to know the exact size so I can order the part, local auto stores dont have it.

thanks

I used T55 on my 02. It fit perfectly. I just double checked in my tool chest and thats it. I had to buy the tool because my set only went to T50.

T55! make sure you torque it back to spec with a TW and use locktight on the threads. Someone I read didn't and there bolts backed out and you can guess the rest. If you are using a fidanza flywheel as a replacement PLEASE make sure its set to altima/maxima. I didn't and had to do it twice

going to pick a T55 up again today and try, it would make it a lot to finish the tear down if I could get this damn flywheel down.

I wonder why nissan switched to these type of bolts

Most Japs use those 12 points these days on flywheels. Also on head bolts axle nuts (toyota) driveshafts, (ford). I guess cause it's harder to round off since it's got 12 points to grab on to.

true. Headbolts are 6pt, but rod bolts are 12pt.

either way its always good to have a set of 6pt and 12pts. never know when it will come in handy
