i was looking at intakes for my 5th gen, and found this. check out this link..http://www.importstudio.bigstep.com/...=1030516...has anyone ever seen or used one of these intakes on their 5th gen? if so what are some specs, and how does it compare to the Stillen Hi-Flow or the JWT Popcharger? becuase im getting an intake pretty soon, i just dont know what i want...kuz theres too many good choices.

huge filter + velocity stack

even better get a CAI

 

Never heard of those. It is probably a generic filter with an intake adapter, and they call it Dragon intakes. For $185 I wouldn't buy it. You can get JWT for cheaper or make your own like I did with a K&N filter and an intake adapter.

 

So i should go with the better known brand, either the Stillen or the JWT.......i dont like the idea of the CAI, i mean its great in power gains and stuff but i just wouldnt feel to comfortable driving in the rain or somethin.

 

Stillen uses a K&N filter, JWT just uses a generic filter. Both have similar gain and HUGE filters.

that foam filter doesn't look like it will last long or prevent junk from coming in.

also weaponR has a rep as having the most POS stuff ever.
I know for a fact that their Celica Intake is junk

There is no point in buying the JWT and they changing it to a K&N. Might as well just buy the $tillen one or make your own.

 

i could probably make my own, but im not 100% sure that i know how. the main thing that is keeping me from making my own is that fact that i do not know what i need to make it. and will the gain be as good with a custom installation as with the Stillen?

 

Make your own? dont do that, pay less then $150 for a JWT or a little mroe for stillen...

Well if the filters as large as JWT or stillen thats cool , and then your gonna want to make a velocity stack like they have.......

 

The filter isn't quite as large as the JWT or Stillen, but it still does the job. And I have a velocity stack/intake adapter.

 

i thought JWT is also using K&N.

theres a difference between an adaptor and velocity stack .. more power to ya though , tell me how it goes

 

I guess you can call it a velocity stack. The filter opening is 4" and the MAF is only 3". So you can say it is a velocity stack.
